Hey, I’m Rhi, the cake artist behind The Mess.

I’ve been decorating cakes since I was 14, learning alongside my Nunna Carmena, whose love of feeding people and creating edible centrepieces shaped everything I do now.

But before The Mess became what it is today, I spent years working in events, backstage, behind the scenes, obsessing over details and making sure every experience felt seamless and unforgettable.

Cakes became my way of bringing all of that together.

As a coeliac myself, I saw firsthand how often gluten-free options felt like an afterthought. So I built something different. At The Mess, every cake is gluten-free by design, never a compromise, with vegan options available too.

My style leans modern, romantic and a little unexpected. Think sculptural buttercream, thoughtful flavour pairings, and cakes that feel like part of the tablescape, not just dessert.
