How Many Portions Does It Serve?
At The Mess, we offer a variety of custom wedding cakes and bespoke cakes in different sizes to suit your guest count and celebration style. This guide will help you choose the perfect cake based on your needs. Plus, we can accommodate custom sizes, shapes, slab cakes, and foam (fake) cakes for large events.
Each tier is made up of three layers of cake with generous fillings in between — giving you the perfect balance of flavour, height, and wow-factor.

Single-Tier Cakes: Perfect for intimate events, offering a beautiful cake in a single stacked layer.
Multi-Tier Cakes: Ideal for larger events, including weddings or celebrations with multiple tiers, each stacked with layers of cake and filling.
When we provide a quote, we’ll suggest the best cake size for your guest count and desired serving style. Whether you prefer larger dessert slices or smaller coffee portions, we’ve got you covered.
Cake Portion Guide
Our cakes are typically cut into two portion sizes:
Dessert portion: 1” x 2” x 6” — for larger, more generous slices
Coffee portion: 1” x 1” x 3” — for smaller, more delicate slices
The portion count will vary depending on how the cake is sliced, and when you receive a quote, we’ll provide a suggestion based on your event's needs.
